Brian Blade is a famous American jazz drummer and composer. This extraordinary musician presents the luminous compositions of Mama Rosa for the first time at the Cully festival. A revealing journey through thirteen songs about family, loved ones, travels and a sense that these things that shape and inspire us have to be shared with others to complete a circle.
Revealed alongside saxophonist Joshua Redman and pianist Brad Mehldau, Brian Blade flies so much on his own that he goes far beyond the framework of the "jazz drummer". Project after project, this 40-year-old from Louisiana brings his harmonic visions everywhere, whether it's jazz with typical 70's fusion areas or soul rock mixed with country and world music, very elaborate and almost cinematic.
Cast: Brian Blade (Vocals and Guitar), Kelly Jones (Voice), Goofrey Moore (Guitar), Chris Thomas (Bass), Steve Nistor (Drums), David Coleman (Sound Engineer)
