Born in 1981, Sébastien Giniaux began playing the cello at the age of 6 at the Bourg-la-Reine conservatory with Etienne Cardoze, then continued his training at the C.N.R in Boulogne and Aubervilliers-la Courneuve.
He discovered the guitar and traditional music at the age of 18, and taught himself the instrument, with the music of Django Reinhardt as his first influence, to which would soon be added Balkan music, classical music, jazz and improvised music, and many others.
He also works with different bands as a composer, arranger and musician, notably for Norig, Selmer #607, the Balkan Project, Téofilo Chantre, etc.
The work of a painter that he has pursued since childhood leads him to apprehend the different artistic media as so many languages.
He now performs in a sextet around his project "Melody of Things" with Joris Viquesnel (guitar), Jérémie Arranger (double bass), Mathias Levy (violin), Chérif Soumano (Kora) and Mihaï Trestian (Cymbalum).
Cast: Sébastien Giniaux (Guitar), Denis Chang (Guitar), Ethan Cohn (Contrabass)
