51m
The band was formed in 2004 by Josselin Quentin and Benjamin Bouton. Tribeqa mixes several musical genres ranging from afro, jazz, soul, funk, electro and hip-hop. They released their first album, the namesake Tribeqa, in 2008, followed by Qolors in 2010. They released their third album, Experiment, in 2016.
They combine traditional Hip Hop sounds with contemporary Hip Hop components in their songs to create a distinctive sound that is both new and exciting. A dynamic blend of electronic beats, live instruments, and soulful vocals make up the band's signature sound, which combines to produce an upbeat and energizing musical experience.
Nantes, a place well-known for its thriving Hip Hop scene, has a strong urban culture that has a big impact on Tribeqa's music. With topics ranging from love and sorrow to social justice and political activism, the band's songs frequently reflect the challenges and victories of everyday life. Every note the band members play exudes love for their work, and each song they compose demonstrates their dedication to making music that is both original and socially important.
A very beautiful mix of acoustic instruments and electro loops, a subtle mix of traditional influences and current sounds to offer a most convincing alchemy, where a solar Africa shines.
Cast: Josselin Quentin (balafon, vibraphone, composition), Étienne Arnoux-Moreau (acoustic guitar), Malou Oheix (lead vocals, bass synth), Julien Ouvrard (drums)
