Live Streaming Musical "The Mystery of Tango" from the Atrium of the State Hermitage in St Petersburg on the 14th of February 2026 at 16.00 GMT (19.00 MSK) exclusively on SigmArt.

The program of the evening includes the musical premiere of the 30 years anniversary of the "Tango Mass" by Martin Palmeri. Unique in its essence, music that combines the motifs of classical Argentine tango and the texts of the Catholic Mass in Latin.

For the first time this work will be performed by the famous Italian accordion virtuoso Simone Zanchini, accompanied by the Konstantinovsky Orchestra conducted by Eduard Krotman and the choir of St. Petersburg State University.

Maestro Simone Zanchini's second musical gift to the public is a vivid performance of the improvisation "Romanesque Tune" of his own composition and the work "Musical Forest" by the contemporary Italian composer Roberto Molinelli. Simone Zanchini is an innovative musician, an outstanding accordionist, and a laureate of major international competitions. The instrument on which the maestro performs music deserves special attention - it is a one-of-a-kind wooden accordion. Simone Zanchini tours all over the world with the soloists of the orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and the stars of the world music scene. He is the winner of the landmark world Orpheus Award for the best album of the year in Italy. Each of his performances is a truly significant musical event.

Listeners of the concert will be immersed in the world of scorching rhythms and lyrical melodies. People's Artist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, leading soloist of the Mariinsky Theater Anna Kiknadze will perform the temperamental "Tango of the Old Lady" from the operetta "Candide" by Leonard Bernstein and "La Tarantula" from the zarzuela "Tempranica" by Jerónimo Jimenez. In the finale of the musical program, the voices of the violin and accordion will merge in a passionate duet. The famous theme by Ennio Morricone from the film "New Cinema Paradiso" performed by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Maria Safariants and guest star Simone Zanchini will be performed.

This magical evening will end with perhaps the most famous tango by Carlos Gardel, for which Al Pacino won an Academy Award in the cult film Scent of a Woman. The audience will be immersed in the world of dance! To the live orchestral performance of this composition, an immersive dance performance will be presented by IDC - International Dance Center - leading dancers, winners of international competitions in China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, participants in the television projects "Dance Revolution" on Channel One and "New Dances" on TNT.
