This 1955 radio work, composed by Germaine Tailleferre to a libretto by Denise Centore, brings together four minute operas: "La Fille d'opéra", "Le Bel Ambitious", "La Pauvre Eugénie" and "Monsieur Petitpois bous un château". Each one was written "in the manner of": Rameau, Rossini, Boieldieu, Auber, Charpentier, Offenbach, etc.
These four opera buffas were adapted for the stage by the Limoges Opera in November 2014. Under the baton of Christophe Rousset and directed by Marie-Ève Signeyrole, L'Affaire Tailleferre brings these four plays up to date, brought together like different cases dealt with in a courtroom.
This work thus offers to rediscover several centuries of music pastiched by Germaine Tailleferre, the only woman in the Group of Six.
To accompany this show, Autour de L'Affaire Tailleferre, an educational documentary in five acts is offered as a bonus. A short lyrical history of French art. From the gallant style to the villainous style and its adaptation L'Affaire Tailleferre are on the program of the 2016, 2017 and 2018 bachelor's degree in music education.
