The Supercombo is a pop/rock band hailing from Vitória, Brazil founded in early 2007. Emerging from a saturated rock scene Supercombo's sound is influenced by a '90s electronic aesthetic and today's well-known indie acts within silly lyrics and danceable rock melodies.
A superlative child of the French cultural mix, Supergombo's Afrofunk was born at the crossroads of Senegalese Mbalax, Congolese soukous and funk made in the USA. A sound between Fela Kuti's Nigeria'70 and Hugh Masekela's Kalahari, the music that Maceo Parker would perhaps play if he knew the Mediterranean better. There is no "world music" here, since all music is now global. Of the world, Supergombo rather keeps the rhythm, frenetic and uncontrolled, but this group of 7 musicians knows that sometimes you have to slow down, take time, to better move forward. Supergombo is quietly doing its supermarket from Montreuil to Ouagadougou, via La Guillotière, a district of Lyon where diversity is not overused. And in such a basket, those who find the right shoe use it to dance.
Cast: Aurelien Joly (Trumpet), Jerome Bartolome (Sax), Romain Nassini (Keyboards), Riad Klai (Guitar), Etienne Kermarc (Bass), Wendlavim Zabsonre (Drums), David Doris (Percussions)
